Our mission is to serve veterans and their dependents, Promote remembrance and act in the service of Canada and it's communities.

There are many veterans organizations in Canada but the largest by far is the Royal Canadian Legion. In addition, the Ladies Auxiliary provide invaluable support to the branches of the Legion and their fundraising activities. The Legion is a non-profit, dues supported, fraternal organization with approximately 1500 branches Canada wide.

Each year Br 63 holds meat and percentage draws on Fridays and Saturdays with all proceeds(net) going to various charities. This year we raised $16500 for 7 different charities. While each charity could not send a representative, a presentation was held on Jan 23.

This year the Smithers Legion BR 63 donated $7820 to the Bulkley Valley Health Care & Hospital Foundation to support the following

Smithers Community Cancer Care Service $3500 for the purchase of a portable oxygen concentrator

BV Palliative Care Services $4320 to support the provision of services and training of volunteers

We also welcome into our membership those without military affiliation who support Canada\'s Veterans. Legion members, whether they have served or not, help Veterans and their families, promote Remembrance, support Legion programs, and volunteer their time to provide essential services within their communities.
